A Spring Meadow, Designed to Last

Seasonal Installation for Ruex Café, Surrey BC

Not every spring activation needs fresh flowers.

When Ruex Café approached us to create a seasonal moment for their space, the brief was clear: they wanted something joyful, photogenic, and expressive — but built to last the entire season.

Six to eight weeks. Minimal maintenance. Maximum impact.

Designing for Longevity

Because this installation needed to live through all of spring, we designed with dried florals, grasses, and sculptural fabric flowers instead of fresh stems.

The result was a layered spring meadow — soft, textural, and full of movement — without the fragility of fresh blooms.

Dried materials allowed us to:

  • maintain colour and structure over time

  • reduce waste

  • create a sustainable, cost-effective solution for the client

Seasonal doesn’t have to mean temporary.

At the centre of the installation was a simple, optimistic message:

“You were made to bloom.”

Paired with the meadow-like florals, it created a moment people naturally gravitated toward.

Guests paused. They took photos. They shared the space online. The activation became part of the café’s identity for the season — not just décor, but an experience woven into daily life.

Spring activations don’t need to be fleeting to feel special.

With the right materials and thoughtful design, a seasonal installation can:

  • support your brand story

  • encourage customer engagement

  • live beautifully in your space for weeks

Ruex Café’s spring meadow was designed to do exactly that.

If you’re a café, retail space, or small business looking to create a seasonal moment that lasts — we’d love to design something meaningful with you.
